| HR 3200 - The health care bill |

I received in my inbox this morning a list of some of the provisions contained within the one thousand seventeen page health care bill. You should
take a look to get a glimpse of what America's social health care system has in store for us. Here are just a couple of the wonderful surprises we'll get to enjoy once this bill becomes law.

Sec. 152, Pg. 50-51 - Health care will be provided to ALL NON-US citizens.
Sec. 163, Pg. 58-59 beginning at line 5 - Government will have real-time access to individual's finances and a National ID health care card will be issued!
Sec. 163, Pg. 59, Lines 21-24 - Government will have direct access to your bank accounts for electronic funds transfer.
Sec. 164, Pg. 65 is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in unions and community organizations (ACORN).
Sec. 201, Pg. 72, Lines 8-14 - Government is creating an Health Care Exchange to bring private plans under government control.

In the interest of verifying some of these points, I read portions of the bill (which you can read
here). This is scary stuff right out
of Orwell's 1984. For example, in the section relating to an individual's finances, the bill contains this ominous language.
SEC. 1173A. STANDARDIZE ELECTRONIC ADMINISTRATIVE TRANSACTIONS.
(2) GOALS FOR FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE TRANSACTIONS.
The goals for standards ... are that such standards shall ...
be authoritative, permitting no additions or constraints for electronic transactions
be comprehensive, efficient and robust, requiring minimal augmentation by paper transactions (ed: no paper trail) or
clarification by further communications
enable the real-time (or near real time) determination of an individual's financial responsibility at the point of service
and, to the extent possible, prior to service, including whether the individual is eligible for a specific service with a specific
physician at a specific facility, which may include utilization of a machine-readable health plan beneficiary identification
card

In case that language scares you as much as it does me, the government includes this reassuring note shortly following the above text.

LIMITATIONS ON USE OF DATA. Nothing in this section shall be construed to permit the use of information collected under this
section in a manner that would adversely affect any individual.

Whew, what a relief! Especially considering how thoughtful and prudent the government will surely be in determining what
adversely affects us. Folks, this bill siphons away more of our freedom than anything since our Founding Fathers birthed this nation into existence 233
years ago.
