In 2004, Election Projection was one of the most accurate predictors of the presidential race between George W. Bush and John
Kerry. Using a complex formula, The Blogging Caesar projected the eventual outcome to within 3 electoral votes, correctly predicting 48 of 50
states.
In addition to weekly projection updates that incorporated the previous week's polling data into the projections, Election Projection also provided
subscribers with daily email updates during the last two months of the campaign. Several hundred readers contributed up to $40 to receive these daily emails.
In 2006, Election Projection expanded to track congressional and statehouse races. Rather than offering an email subscription, I created a premium content area on the website
and initiated a one-of-a-kind "Name Your Price" subscription program. Even though 2006 was a midterm election year, over 1270 readers took
advantage of the program.
Because of their generosity, "Name Your Price" was a wonderful success. And so was Election Projection's picks - The Blogging Caesar's
formula picked every Senate race and all but one gubernatorial race correctly and predicted a solid Democratic takeover in the House.
This time around, once again, I need help from my readers to be able to continue publishing this website. Please continue reading to find out what you get with a
"Name Your Price" subscription. And then I would be very grateful if you'd sign up! Thank you!
Why should I subscribe to Election Projection?
Election Projection is a unique website that provides up-to-date state-by-state tracking of the Electoral College contest, all Senate and gubernatorial races, and 60 hotly-contested
House races. A subscription gives you a wealth of charts, polls, and details not available on the free side of the site.
I've initiated the subscriber program to help cover the costs of running Election Projection and to help make it worth the many hours I invest in it.
Many political websites charge prohibitive amounts for access to their premium content - some subscriptions can cost hundreds of dollars.
At Election Projection, I decided to try something different. My intent is to make this information available to as many people as possible
while covering the costs of maintaining it.
To that end, I've instituted a "Name Your Price" subscription fee. That's right! YOU determine how
much to pay for all the great stuff Election Projection has to offer.
For your one-time contribution, you'll have access to Election Projection's Premium Content throughout the election season and beyond - all
the way 'til November, 2009! To the best of my knowledge, this is the only program of its kind on a political site like mine.
I can name my price, huh? So what should my price be?
As the name implies, "Name Your Price" means that decision is totally up to you. You can use the list
below to help you figure out "your price." See which of the following options fits you best.
Rolling in the dough: If you have the means and the desire to help out The Blogging Caesar in a more benevolent
way, you may decide to make a contribution of $50, $75, $100, $200 or more. This type of contribution is in line with some of the other political
websites out there.
| Cook Political Report |
$295 |
| Roll Call |
$285 |
| Rothenberg Political Report (print edition) |
$197 |
| DC's Political Report |
$120 |
Making ends meet: If you don't reside in the upper crust but you're getting along fine, you may want to
send in a more moderate amount. In 2004, I charged $20 - $40 for the daily email updates so many of my readers enjoyed. If that sounds about
right, then perhaps you fall in this category.
Strapped for funds: Maybe you just don't have a lot of extra cash lying around, but you really want to
have access to all the detailed information Election Projection provides. If this is you, I'm glad to offer you a subscription for a contribution
of just a few bucks. If you can only send in $5 or $10, then go right ahead. Please don't let the fact that you can't contribute much keep you from
getting your subscription. In order to make processing your subscription worthwhile, please make your contribution at least $5.
