In the Heart of Dixie, Republicans fare very well. They have dominated this deep south state for decades. The red team has held a majority in the U.S. House delegation here since 1996, with a 6-1 advantage since 2010. Among presidential, senatorial and gubernatorial races, only Senator Doug Jones, elected in a special election in 2017, has won a race for the Democrats here in this millennium.
